**When does each semester start at the university?**
The first semester of each academic year begins in September, and the second semester begins in February.

**Does the university admit non‑Iranian students?**
Yes. The University of Religions and Denominations can admit a limited number of non‑Iranian students each year, depending on the capacity and permission granted annually by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.

**Are all programs at the university taught in Persian?**
Most programs are taught in Persian. However, the Islamic Studies program is also offered in English.

**When does registration open?**

**How long does a PhD program take?**
Three semesters are devoted to coursework, three semesters to the doctoral dissertation, and one semester for the comprehensive PhD exam. The maximum allowed duration is eight semesters (four academic years).

**Does the university offer bachelor’s programs?**

**Are online programs offered at the university?**

**What is the tuition fee for the PhD program?**
Since the University of Religions and Denominations is a non‑governmental and non‑profit university, tuition fees are determined each year according to a resolution issued by the Board of Trustees in the fall.

**Does the university provide dormitories?**
The university does not have its own dormitories, but it assists students by introducing them to dormitories at other universities, institutions, and higher education centers. (Dormitory costs and conditions are determined by the host institution.)

**On which days are classes held?**
Classes are usually held one or two days per week. The specific days for each program should be confirmed with the program coordinator. However, most PhD classes are held on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

**How many absences are allowed in classes?**
According to the regulations of the Ministry of Science, a student may miss up to 3 sessions out of 16. If absences exceed this limit, the student will automatically be removed from the class list by the system.

**I have questions about the career prospects of my field.**
The best person to answer such questions is the head of the department or one of the faculty members of that field. You can also obtain this information from specialized websites.

**Does the university offer research‑based PhD programs? Please explain.**
Yes. In the research‑based PhD pathway, students are admitted through a research proposal. They then conduct their research and complete their dissertation under the guidance of a supervisor and advisor. Communication with supervisors may take place either online or in person, depending on the faculty’s decision.
