
Dr. Mostafa Jafar Tayari, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Islamic Studies, University of Religions and Denominations, was appointed as President of the University on December 13, 2025, by decree of Dr. Hossein Simaei Sarraf, Minister of Science, Research and Technology.
He has extensive managerial and academic experience at the University. From 2014 , he served as Deputy President of the University. on June 30, 2025, Dr. Jafar Tayari was appointed as Acting President until his official appointment as President on December 13, 2025.
He previously held various leadership positions including Vice President for Academic Affairs and Graduate Studies (2012-2016), Vice President for Cultural Affairs (2016-2019), and Vice Dean and Dean of the Faculty of Shiite Studies.
Dr. Jafar Tayari has taught for many years in both seminaries and universities and is the author of several books and scholarly articles.
The previous President since the University’s founding was Seyyed Abolhassan Navvab, founder of the University of Religions and Denominations.
