Issues and discussions in human studies are based on their own philosophical foundations. Crossing over these foundations does not mean that they do not exist. Therefore, any kind of theorizing of gender or critiques of existing theories in the field of gender, require the recognition, study and attention to the ontological, anthropological and epistemological foundations.

Now, the theological basis is also added to the gender theories related to religion. The group of Philosophy, Theology and Gender tries to apply the principles of Islamic philosophy in order to produce indigenous and Islamic theories while examining the philosophical foundations of gender theories. Entry into the field of mixed philosophies and theorization of gender issues in accordance with Islamic philosophy is the concern of this group.
