Sheikh Alauddin Abul-Azaem, the leader of Egyptian Azmiyya Tarigah (Sufi Order) Visited URD President, Dr. Navvab, in his office on Wednesday, Nov. 5th.

The Egyptian Sheikh appreciated the attention URD pays for proximity among various denominations, sects and cults, expressing his pleasure for visiting Iran and especially the holy city of Qom as well as the University of Religions and Denominations, and hoped for further mutual academic cooperation between the two great countries of the Moslem world.

Dr. Navvab, hosting the leader of Azmis along with his deputy, Dr. Tayyari, also emphasized the importance of the position of Egypt in the world of Islam throughout the history and pointed to its more important role today in fighting against extremism.

Sheikh Alauddin Abul-Azaem who was in Iran to take a part in the first world congress on the dangers of extremist and Takfiri movements, hold in Nov. 23-4th in Qom, also paid a visit to the URD Office for the Proximity of Islamic Denominations and talked to its head, Dr. Aghanoori.
