The head of the University of Religions and Denominations (URD), Abul Hassan Navvab visited Ex-pope Benedict XVI in Rome.

During his stay in Rome to participate in the unveiling ceremony of the book of “Persian translation of Catechism of the Catholic Church” in Pontifical Gregorian University, Dr. Navvab accompanied by Iran’s ambassador to Vatican Mohammad Taher Rabbani and two URD professors, Mr. Meftah and Mrs. Zarean visited Ex-pope Benedict XVI.

Ex-pope Benedict appreciated the translation of ‘Catechism into Persian by URD telling” that is a great job; activities done at your university is very interesting for me because there is nothing like that here in Italy to study all religions in one university.

In this meeting Dr. Navvab granted the Ex-pope a copy of “Persian translation of Catechism of the Catholic Church” hoping it to be an effective step on the way of interreligious dialogue.
