Hartford School President Visiting URD: We pursue the Same Purposes

Heidi Hadsell, president of US Hartford Seminary, visiting URD along with a group of his colleagues, stressed on the similarity of the purposes pursued by the both sides.

In order to commence mutual scientific and research collaborations, she also signed a memorandum of understanding at the end of his visit with her counterpart at URD Dr. Navvāb.

The presidents emphasized on their preparedness to commence mutual scientific and research collaborations.

In this meeting Dr. Navvāb also expressed his institute, s extensive preparedness for expanding such cooperation with the participation of a third part such as German universities with which URD has close relations in terms of holding bilateral student workshops.

Mrs. Hadsell also said that in today’s religiously plural world, it is essential to understand and work with religions beyond one’s own.

At the end of this meeting the memorial emblems of the two universities were exchanged between their presidents in addition to the MoU signed.

Heidi Hadsell, Ph.D., is President of Hartford Seminary and Professor of Social Ethics. She has a deep commitment to interfaith dialogue and engagement, believing that in today’s religiously plural world, it is essential to understand and work with religions beyond one’s own.

Dr. Hadsell serves on a variety of boards that reflect her service in the community and experience in theological education. The boards include Arigatou International, where she is on the council for the World Day of Prayer and Action for Children; Globethics.net; the Advisory Committee to the Wabash Center for Teaching and Learning in Theology and Religion; the Association of Theological Schools in North America and Canada, including the ATS Presidential Leadership Education Advisory Committee; and Plowshares Institute.
