Representatives of Catholic and Anglican Churches visit URD

Representatives of two main Christian Churches, namely, Catholic and Anglican visited the University of Religions and Denominations on Feb. 15th to become more familiar with the academic institutions of Qom.

Monsinior Vitello and John Peterson had a meeting with Dr. Masjed Jamei, top consultant of the president of URD.

In this meeting, the guests appreciated comprehensive study of all divine or non-divine religions and denominations in this university.

In addition, in this meeting the two sides had a short negotiation on possible fields of mutual cooperation to fulfill preparations for the fourth round of Christian-Muslim summit to be held this November in Tehran.

Representatives from Shia and Sunni Islam as well as Catholic, Protestant and Anglican Christianity will take part in the summit.

The first Christian-Muslim summit was held in 2009 in Washington, DC, in the US.

Beirut, Lebanon, hosted the second summit in 2011 and the third was held in Vatican in 2014.
