The President of the Holy See’s Pontifical Council for the Family Visits URD

Vincenzo Paglia, the President of the Holy See’s Pontifical Council for the Family visited the University of Religions and Denominations on June 14th, 2016.

During his visit, Vincenzo Paglia participated in a meeting with Dr. Navvab, the head of the University and some of its faculty members to hear their viewpoints on the family values.

Referring to the commonalities between Islam and Christianity regarding the family values, Paglia hoped that the meeting prepares the ground for the promotion of ties between the two sides in this regard.

The President of the Holy See’s Pontifical Council for the Family also appreciated the activities being done in the University of Religions and Denominations especially in the faculty of women and family.

Also in this meeting Mr. Navvab put an emphasis on the importance of the institution of the family both in Islam and Christianity, calling it as a pillar of faith of every believer.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides also put emphasis on continuing mutual dialogue and cooperation to confront the threats to the holy institution of the family in the modern world.
