According to the University’s Public Relations office, Josef Rychtar, the ambassador of Czech Republic to Iran, and Petr Pelikan a faculty member of the University of West Bohemia visited the University of Religions and Denominations and met with the University President Dr. Sayed Abulhasan Navab.
Petr Pelikan, a faculty member at the University of West Bohemia, while expressing interest to start collaborations with the University of Religions and Denominations, said: “I have been collaborating with universities in Iran for years and I hope collaboration with the University of Religions and Denominations will be effective in the continuity of these collaborations.”
Also, the President of the University of Religions and Denominations said: “I do not look at the University of Religions and Denominations from the perspective of an Iranian; instead, I have an international perspective. To me, the world is a family, and I consider humanity as a family. In our view, the differences in race and color do not matter; what matters to me is humanity.”
He added: “I have previously travelled to the Republic of Czech to participate in scientific conferences and symposiums; however we have not been able to collaborate with a university in this country to transfer professors and students or carry out joint educational and research programs. Hopefully, your presence at this university will be the start of scientific collaborations between the URD and the universities in Czech Republic, particularly the UWB.”
The two sides further discussed the details of joint collaboration between the two universities, emphasizing the first joint program to be held after the decline or elimination of the Covid-19 pandemic. Holding joint student camps, transferring students and professors, and providing research opportunities to the researchers of the two universities were among common programs, on which the two sides emphasized.
Ambassador Joseph Rychtar and Professor Pelikan later visited several faculties and the specialized library of Religions and Denominations.
Then, the head of the Office of Scientific and International Collaborations of the University of Religions and Denominations, Hujjat al-Islam Hamed Shah-Raf’ati and his colleagues held a meeting with ambassador Rychtar and Professor Pelikan to discuss the details of joint symposiums and programs, student and professor transfers, and research opportunities for the researchers of the two universities.
It is worth mentioning that this meeting took place on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at the University of Religions and Religions.
