Law
The master’s program of “Law” is a comprehensive educational package in line with the regulations and decisions made by the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology of Iran. The program of Law is studied in four concentrations of public law, private law, criminal law, and international law. Law is an old field of study which was established as Jurisprudence in Islam. Currently, the Islamic society needs lawyers who are informed of the fundamentals of Islam and thus can explain the legal perspectives of Islam. These lawyers should be able to depict the Islamic judicial system through the comparative study of Islamic views and other legal systems and should prove the superiority of this legal system over other systems. This field will facilitate training such lawyers.
A major goal of “Law”, as a field of study, is to train researchers who deeply understand the teachings and values of Islam and well recognize law (in its different concentrations) to explain the Islamic views in legal and jurisprudential system. They are also expected to make an executive model of the system in different areas, in order to present and defend the Islamic views from the perspective of an expert. The field of Law tries to train law specialists who will be able to introduce the legal and jurisprudential teachings of Islam in particular and law in general.
Graduates of Law have a firm grasp of all legal systems (at the master level). Based on this knowledge, they can apply the rich sources of jurisprudence and Islamic knowledge. Also they can present true, rational, and philosophical arguments, in order to correctly review the theories discussed in law and to explain the legal and jurisprudential system in Islam. Moreover, they can determine the position of the true model of a legal system in the Islamic intellectual system as a whole. They would also be able to prove the superiority of Islamic views and to provide true, rational answers for the doubts raised, while clarifying the weaknesses of other schools of thought.
Holding a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent is sufficient for enrollment in this program. The previous degree of the applicant must be verified by the consulate of Iran in the issuing country.
