Maturidi History and Beliefs

Maturidis adhere to the teachings of Abu Hanifa in Islamic jurisprudence, and they follow Abu Mansur al-Maturidi in theology (kalam) and beliefs. It is worth noting that nearly half of the Sunni Muslim population today identifies as Maturidis.

Notably, Maturidism stands as the primary Sunni theological school of thought in the northern and eastern regions of the Islamic world.

Currently, a significant number of Sunni Muslims, ranging from India and Afghanistan to Transoxiana and Turkey, adhere to the Maturidi theological sect.
