The Japanese ambassador to Iran met with President of URD

The Japanese ambassador to Iran, Mr. Kazutoshi Aikawa, met with Hujjat al-Islam Sayed Abulhasan Navab at the University of Religions and Denominations.

The Japanese ambassador to Iran, Mr. Kazutoshi Aikawa, met with Hujjat al-Islam Sayed Abulhasan Navab at the University of Religions and Denominations.

According to the Public Relations Office of the university, Hujjat al-Islam Navab welcomed the Japanese ambassador and expressed the university’s interest in the expansion of scientific collaborations with Japan.

In this meeting, Hujjat al-Islam Taskhiri, the head of Scientific and International Collaborations office, and Dr. Mansoureh Zarean, the director of Research at the Institute for Women and Family Studies were also present.

The President of the University of Religions and Denominations expressed interest in expanding relations with Japan and said: “I hope this meeting will mark the beginning of future collaborations with Japanese universities.”

He pointed to the importance of understanding the cultures of Iran and Japan, and continued: “Iran and Japan both possess rich, old cultures, and few countries can be found with such a civilization history. The two nations, at the East and West ends of Asia, are highly interested in each other. It is our job to take steps toward introducing these cultures to the great people of Iran and Japan.

Hujjat al-Islam Navab added that the University of Religions and Denominations emphasizes the expansion of scientific and cultural relations with reputable international universities including Japanese universities. Science diplomacy can also expand the cultural and economic relations between countries.

In addition, he emphasized the need for a memorandum of cooperation between the University of Religions and Denominations and Japanese universities and taking measures toward realizing this goal. He also added that this is a good opportunity for future collaborations in the areas of interest between these universities.

Expressing happiness at meeting with Hujjat al-Islam Navab, Ambassador Kazutoshi Aikawa referred to the top scholarly position of the University of Religions and Denominations and expressed his satisfaction with the activities of this university in the areas of religions and denominations.

He pointed to the international activities of Hjjat al-Islam Navab and the University of Religions and Denominations and expressed hope for stronger relations between the University of Religions and Denominations and Japanese universities through the expansion of academic relations of these universities.

The two sides also discussed plans for professors and students exchange, cultural exchange, scholarships, workshops, and joint research.
