The development of the technomedial communication that comes to control the contemporary societies has come to change the monotonous and regular lifestyle in dealing with various complicated issues. This has also come to increase the regularity of the cultural communication to unprecedented extent. However, Marshal Marshall McLuhan , a Canadian philosopher and media theorist ,  presents  the concept of ‘ Global Village’ in which he predicts that  modern society will have mutual communicative and techno-medial  space, yet, he was unable to predict the speed and the  shape  in which these  enormous changes  that accompanied  the   media developments of the societies have undergone. The exchanging media communication   become a global-like today as vast majority of world areas have dealt with most of the events and made each individual to be aquatinted with the tiniest details that occur in hundred miles away and enable him to share and communicate information with large internal and external community as well with individuals who live in a far-fetched areas   This study aims at showing the roles and effects of the social medias and communication platforms in reshaping the social conventions for the students in Babylon University in attempt to give clear information on the basic principles that are responsible for making the social conventions and laws, in addition to the classifying of these social platforms into different and important categories in an objective manner.   To accomplish this aim, the researcher has manipulated Theatre Approach. A questionnaire has been made   which encompasses (28) items distributed on a sample of about (400) students of both sexes in Babylon University during the academic year 2020-2021.  Therefore, the results provide answers forthe two basic questions of the study: What are the roles played by social platform in changing the social conventions among the students in Babylon University. The researcher relies on the study of Uses and Gratifications Theory as the main theory; and Cultivation theory as a second one. The researcher has come with very significant results through  his study as that most  of the sample members appear to be using these social platform on a consistent  time-span, furthermore ,  large part of the sample  appear to be addicted to these social   platforms as they use it for more than six hours per day. In addition, the results reflect a discrepancy among the sample in using these social platforms according the nature of interests that are related to the gratifying processes. The results show up that there are variations among students in using the social platform which reflect that many of students use Instgram most often in comparison with other social applications.  The results of the questionnaire suggest that the first motivation of using these social platforms is a recreational one as the answers show this fact with high rate level.  It has been concluded that the changes which student come to expose are social ones regardless of the bad effects that these social platforms offer since students have come to develop epistemic values, cultural awareness and respect for others’ rights. Most of the remaining results will be presented at the end of the study.
