Typology Of Views About The Reason For The Presence Of Imam Hossein’s Family In Karbala

Due to its special place in the history of Islam and especially the history of Shiism and the history of Imamia, the huge and painful event of Ashura is one of the topics that has had the greatest share of authorship among non-Muslim, Muslim and especially Shiite writers over many centuries. However, in the meantime, a small part of these works and compositions have analyzed and investigated the reason for the presence of Imam Hussein’s family in Karbala, according to the views raised about the purpose of Imam Hussein’s uprising; If various contexts and factors, including the prevailing political, social and religious situation, certain beliefs and misconceptions about the purpose of the uprising, have provided the background and platform for the emergence of numerous and different approaches and perceptions of this event, this study can provide a better understanding. The causes and motivations of Imam Hussain’s uprising, the reason for accompanying the family, as well as the reasons for its apparent lack of success, will contribute significantly. Based on this, the present research has studied, examined and categorized these views, in the form of three types of government, pure martyrdom and revival of religion, since the beginning of the movement of Imam Hossein and before that, and in each case, an attempt has been made to report the reasons. Each of these views should be mentioned about the reason for the presence of Imam Hossein’s family in Karbala. Based on this, the present research has reported the reasons of the most famous and most common viewpoints raised with a descriptive-analytical method, and since none of the writings and sources of the history of Ashura independently, to investigate the reason for the presence of the family of Imam Hossein according to these viewpoints. have not been addressed, this research has expressed the reasons for each of the views raised in the form of three types.
