The art of the novel in our modern age is one of the most important literary arts It identifies with human life and its diaries, and expresses its experiences and details of its, daily life with an artistic vision. The novel is composed of several elements, including: Our research bears a special interest in the place in the novels of the Iraqi creator Jassem Assi, where we have devoted ourselves to research and analysis of a number of his novels, to discover the secrets of the place, whether it is desert, water areas, villages or cities, and we have learned about the secrets of those places and the psychological impressions that these places produce of suffering or stillness. Purity or filth, space or prison, it will be hidden. The novelist Jassem Asi’s choice of the hill and the village reflects the aspect that the city is no longer the womb of fiction or the only place that invades the writer’s consciousness.
