One of the most prominent of Shia conviction is applied to Imamis and the main source of belief to Imamis is considered as the main distinction from other Islamic sectsso that the religion is called Imamis by some historians. Imamis has been as the significance and effective issues in the society, unfortunately instead of regarding as sodality of the lustrous candle and Hable-al-matin of Islamic community, it has been the main factor of sectarian conflicts. According to Shia, prophet approach and Ah al-Bayt, every individual can’t be appointed as the successor and caliphate of prophet in the Muslim community, moreover ,based on the teaching of infallible Imams, Imam and prophet(pbuh) must meet some characteristics and attributes. My thesis includes conducting a comprehensive search about Imam Ali ibnAbiTalib(AS)’s view in Nahj al-Balagha,then followed by the Sheikh Tusi(RA) views in this field. The results including: Text (Nass): according to Shia view, text is considered as the only way to Imam Selection. Text is a ruling whichcoming from Prophet (pbuh) and the previous Imam. The critical mission of Imam as the line extender of prophecy demands that Imam must be appointed by God decision and being supported till society members accept and follow the leader’s word and take the true paths. Chastity: Imam is infallible in thoughts (Subjective chastity) and in actions and words (practical innocence). Supremacy: Imam’s supremacy is valid since Imam as the society leader must make the most comprehensive and perfect decisions. The heavy roles of Imam require an extensive circle of knowledge in order to manage the society successfully. Another duty of Imam is contributed to theeducation and edification of spirits, as a result, it requires knowing the inner of people.
