The movement of Qutbiyah is a religio-political revolution which has developed in recent decades. Qutbiyyah is a branch of Wahhabism which could attract certain groups of people towards itself due to criticizing the traditional conservatism of Wahhabism and especially for standing both against aggressive countries and some forceful groups in relation to internal powers. Due to the especial reading of Seyyed Qutb of this statement (there is no God and no Shari`ah but from Allah and there is no authority of one over the other, because all the authorities belong to Allah), he believed that the concept of Supremacy is the most important factor in Unity of God (Tawhid). After the death of Seyyed Qutb, his brother who was impressed by Qutb`s thoughts was deported from Egypt and moved to Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia was a suitable place for development and expansion of Qutb`s thought. Wahhabism faced a new reading of Tawhid in supremacy and it paved the way for struggling between followers of Qutb and the State, and formed the movement of Qutbiyyah. The revolutionary movement is strongly active in Saudi Arabia. The war in Afghanistan made them move out of Saudi Arabia in order to fight with so called enemies of Islam, and as a result Saudi remained safe. Currently, there are thousands of Qutby Wahhabis in Saudi prisons and others are camping in mountainous areas. Amongst the Qutbiyah figures are Salman al-`Udah, Safar Ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Hawali, and Nasir Ibn Sulayman al-Umar. Some of the Jihadi, Takfiri and new Salafi movements impressed by the movement of Qutbiyyah. The current writing is a personology of Seyyed Qutb and a survey on the historical formation of Qutbiyah movement and their beliefs, while introducing some of the figures as well as other movements impressed by Qutbiyyah.
