Buddhism is a rich, variant religious tradition which as other religions has spread out of its motherland into other territories. The great China is one of Buddhism main historical stations. Having people with thousands year culture, this country at first resisted against this strange religion. Theravada Buddhism was not welcomed by Chinese. They found Theravada Buddhism teaching and lifestyle very strange and in oppose with their religious and cultural principles. Some factors barry Theravada Buddhism to stem in china being constrained in Indian philosophy-religious traditions theravadas showed no flexibility and could not communicate with Chinese in order to stay in that country. However, the other Buddhism group named emerging Mahayanas could insolve into china culture and influenced it during next centuries. Similarities of their thoughts with Dao philosophy and also the translation of Buddhism texts into Chinese language using its literature allusions and adding Chinese comments made Chinese Buddhism into birth. Chinese Buddhism resembles its Indian counterpart centrally but differ in many cases such as Sangha and monasticism with the Indian counterpart or Theravada.
