The purpose of this study is to investigate the extent to which the audience pays attention to television programs, especially the program “Rahlat Al-Zakira ” in Dhi Qar; because these programs play an important role in increasing the general knowledge of the people, especially the youth, and provide many opinions and ideas on various topics and public interest. In this study, which is based on a quantitative survey method, the researcher compiled a questionnaire and distributed it to collect information among about 400 people in Dhi Qar (men and women). The main question in this research is “What is the role of television programs in increasing political awareness among the people?” In conducting this research, the two theories have been used to help the role of television programs as well as the program “Rahlat Al-Zakira” in increasing political awareness among the people by watching them during this program. The most important results obtained in this study are: a large percentage of respondents watch these programs and a smaller percentage of them do not follow this program. Respondents of television programs also believe that they play an important and effective role in motivating the audience to talk. The poll also showed that the people of Dhi Qar are following the Rakhlat al-Dhakara program. The poll showed that the statistical community (viewers of the Rakhlat al-Dhakrra program) is primarily interested in historical issues and then pays attention to facts and rumors and increases knowledge. Also, in the polls about the political content presented in this program, a large percentage have mentioned this issue and believe that this political content in the first place leads to the pursuit of different political currents and in the second place increases the desire for political participation. In the third place, it raises political awareness about currents and events. A large percentage also agreed with the formation of public opinion and views on regional and international political issues presented in the Rahlat Al-Zakira program.
