This study has aimed to explain the role of Tusi in expanding the implications of words. Tusi is one of the elders of the Shia school, he could be said to be the pioneer and founder of many religious and non-religious methods. It is obvious that Tusi relied on the Holy Qur’an and popular readings among reciters and commentators, so this study is methodical by examining the implications of antecedence and posteriority that are point of dispute among experts of syntax and jurists and Tusi has also has a prominent role in expressing these implications. This study investigated Tusi’s opinions in this field, whether he has corrected or rejected those controversial implications or said something new. These opinions enabled the researcher to extract the syntactic and semantic phenomena of antecedence and posteriority in all its aspects from the book of al-Tabayan fi irab al-Qur’an by Sheikh Tusi and analyze them by relying on the descriptive and analytical method. The results of this study also indicate that Tusi used the ideas of scholars before him so that he obtained scientific maturity in his thought and relied on the terminological aspect. He has explained the meaning of the word in the text and if it is contrary to the meaning and signification that other scholars have said, he mentions a new meaning and compares commentators and linguists, because he mentions the lexical and idiom meaning of the word and then confirms or rejects it. To reach the meaning of the word, he uses the scholars of rhetoric and considers their opinion as proof, and bases his implications on Quranic readings.
