This research deals with the concept of simile and the study of simile, representation as one of the most important axes of study for researchers in literary criticism and analysis of literary texts. The researcher studies this term in the poems of the poet, Sharif Al-Murtada, who is considered one of the greatest poets of the fourth century AH, and exclusively in his court; This concept becomes clear to him in his Diwan in terms of poetry systems, and he monitors the meanings related to imagination and simile; Analyzing its words and structures, and distributing its forms; This thesis consists of an introduction and three chapters based on the descriptive-analytical method, each of which deals with an aspect related to the poet and his poems in which this element of imagination is used. The chapters of the thesis are as follows: Chapter One: A chapter on the life of the poet, his poetic characteristics, and the purposes for which his poetry was organized. The second chapter studies the subject of simile among the late ancients and the new, its meaning and nomenclature, and its relationship to other graphic methods of metaphor, metonymy, and metaphor. As for the third chapter, it is an applied chapter to analyze and criticize the poems of the poet Sharif Al-Murtada to shed light on the similes and the mimetic similes in particular, and the artistic and literary images that exist between his poems. Linguistic and graphic characteristics used in the fragrance of emotion; The poet’s care to match poetic styles with emotion, in addition to the purpose of the moral poems, their religious background, and their conformity with the criteria of emotion, which gives these poems a value that is worth researching in the field of literary studies, and that there is an analogy to representation in the poet’s poems, due to his intentionally moving away from the familiar words of this and the traditional poetic meanings. Modern connotations while these images and meanings raise boredom and boredom from the recipient and increase the element of joy and add vitality to the literary text. It is worth noting that the graphic methods were based on the feature of simile and metaphor, which is a distinguishing feature among his poems, as he included them in most of his poems, especially what appeared in his Diwan.
