This study helps in revealing the effects of international diplomacy and its true course in the countries by studying the speeches of the British Ambassador Stephen Hayley in Iraq during his inauguration as ambassador to the State of Britain for the years 2019 and 2020 and analyzing them to find out the truth of his speeches, their content and their contents, and what they are intended for, by asking the questions of the study Which focused on the topics that the British ambassador focused on in his media speeches, the form of the media discourse of the British ambassador in Iraq, the type of media discourse that the British ambassador followed, and the verbal act that the British ambassador focused on in his speech. Which proved that the colonial policy in its general form, which was launched from British land and was part of Iraq’s share, still believed that it established the Iraqi state and increased its belief in its intervention in appointing the kings of Iraq and that it was one of the foundations of the Iraqi army and that it launched democracy and freedom in Iraq, its ambassador and representative in Iraq focused on the topics that His country is concerned with interfering for the sake of imperialist control and hegemony, which is characterized by political malice, spreading division and discrimination It was a sarcastic speech in which the truth was embodied in the national unity in the Arab peoples, where the form of the political media discourse that he used was a sarcastic speech in which he said what does not mean, serving the interests of his country, and that his speech was of the open, direct type where he practiced it freely, taking advantage of the political chaos, the weakness of the government, popular demonstrations, and the crisis of the Corona pandemic. . As for the verbal act that he followed, he pretended to love Iraq and to address its people with affection and sentimental participation, and to act tactfully as if he was an Iraqi who eats their food and lives their sadness and joy.
