Al-Tabarsi and Al-Zamakhshari were interested in the linguistic sources on which they relied in their books, Majma’ al-Bayan and al-Kashaf. And parsing, reading and meaning, and it was not limited to the opinions of one sect over another, but rather mentioned the opinions of all Islamic schools of thought. This interpretation is distinguished over all interpretations and is trusted by the entire Islamic nation, and its sources are books of language, readings and opinions from the various doctrines of interpretation.
Al-Tabarsi used many linguistic sources, such as the book “The Dictionary of Meanings for Glass” where he used it in twenty places, as well as the book of Al-Muhtasib by Ibn Jinni in twenty two places. The same applies to Ibn Duraid’s dictionary of Jamhrat al-Lughah in twenty-four places, and there are other linguistic sources such as historical and poetic books and famous media. Al-Tabarsi included them as footnotes in Majma’ al-Bayan. As for Al-Zamakhshari, he used many linguistic sources, including Al-Tibian by Abu Al-Fath Al-Hamdani in three places, as well as a dictionary of the meanings of the Qur’an for glass in nineteen places, and the book Al-Muhtasib by Ibn Jinni in sixteen places.
The study was characterized by the inductive-analytical approach, which is based on collecting information and data and studying them in an objective analytical manner by presenting and studying the two books of “Al-Bayan Al-Bayan and Al-Kashaf” and extracting the linguistic meanings contained in the advanced linguistic confiscation and then detailing and analyzing them on the basis of the topics and demands of the study. Our study took from these two great books an approach in finding linguistic sources for both of them, and studying them in a comparative manner by knowing the methods of use, the types of sources used and the reasons for their linguistic use.
