The study titled “Shrines and Tombs of the Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, in the Book of Indications to Knowing the Ziyarat of al-Harawi and the Book of the History of Damascus by Ibn Asaker, a comparative study” looks for the most important shrines of the Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, through scrutiny and comparisons between the two books (references to knowing the Ziyarat and the History of Damascus) and clarifying Points of difference and similarity, and the research provided the privacy and importance of its uniqueness as well, so the research was an attempt to make a comparison between the two books of historians, as Al-Harawi was a traveler and a scientist. His book included many countries in the region through his visits, so relying on him was one of the two aspects of comparison because of the valuable information that this book contains about this research. The other side of the comparison was Ibn Asaker in his book The History of Damascus, which served the Islamic world and was an important source. Many of the shrines of Ahl al-Bayt, especially those shrines located in the Levant, and the importance of this study comes through its connection to the field of knowledge to which it belongs, which is history. Where this study falls within the aspect of religious and doctrinal history on the one hand, and on the other hand within the social history, because it includes research on the shrines of the Ahl al-Bayt. It was written by historians, especially in both of the aforementioned books, and we have come to know the importance of these shrines and graves in all areas of life for the people, as they formed a meeting and communication center between the members of society. It was used to reach all this inductive historical approach based on the extrapolation and tracking of the shrines of Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, which are mentioned in the book “Indications to Knowing the Visits” of Al-Harawi with what was mentioned in the book “The History of Damascus” by Ibn Asaker, and completing the picture after that through other books and sources by following the method.
