This research is focusing on the understanding of the historical reality related to the cooperation of the Imam Shi’ite with non-Shi’ite Muslims throughout the duration of Imamate of Imam al-Sadiq peace be upon him, that is, from (114 AH to148 AH) in Kufa. It also focuses on the approximate position of Imam al-Sadiq peace be upon him, and this social dealing has several dimensions of the research here at the emotional level and highlighting level, which we mean what is going on in the heart and mind towards the opponents of the sect in terms of judging them with Islam or not and the details that follow. Other dimension revolves around cooperation at the level of social ceremonies with regard to relative issues such as marriage and its consequences, and causation such as loyalty, kinship ties and relatives and other social issues with non-genealogy of companionship, neighborhood and others. The last dimension revolves around cooperation at the level of participation in religious ceremonies and rites and collective appearance, and in all this attempt to understand what was going on with a certain depth.
The approach followed here is, of course, the historical method, with its analytical level in what is likely to dive and analyze and describe in the places that do not tolerate that, and there is a detail on how to write down the research in a practical manner mentioned in the research methodology, which we are dealing with here briefly because of its wideness.
As for the results of the research, they are divided into general and specific; The general ones are comprehensive for the different research chapters, except for the first and most prominent ones;
- The intended social cooperation was affected by several aspects, namely the Islamic teachings and the peculiarities of Arab tribal life before Islam and their cooperation with other nations.
- The position of Imam al-Sadiq, peace be upon him, towards the Imamiyyah’s dealings with non-Shiite Muslims was approximate, even if at the level of social approximation, at the very least measurement.
The results of the research related to the chapters are numerous, most notably:
- In the second chapter, we find that al-Sadiq, peace be upon him, had positions on the events of his time and methods to ensure that Muslims were brought together.
- In the third chapter, the Muslims’ view of each other is reflected in the psychological aspect and the external reality in their dealings with each other.
- In the fourth chapter, we find that most of the social cooperation between the Imamis and non-Shiite Muslims were affected by Arab values.
- In the fifth chapter, we find that most of the social cooperation between the Imamis and non-Shia Muslims were influenced by Islamic teachings.
