Traditional display of Tazia is one of the most reliable Iranian-Islamic dramatic patterns that is rooted, on the one hand, in playing various narratives of Karbala’s events and is derived from Iranian culture and play, on the other. The display has been created in various cultural contexts that we can study its capacities and capabilities in deferent trends by new approaches and give, in theory, an added richness. One of the new eastern dramatic approaches in recent half-century is the works of Richard Shechner that he entered to theory of performance in eastern plays corresponding to traditional Tazia. So, location, space and music of Tazia has been studied in the view of Shechner’s ideas. The results are listed as follows: The use of place is changed by performing Tazie and new place is created. This new place has capability of unified and simultaneous alteration to the scene and the place of viewer. So, viewer has an effective presence in the process of performance and manifold connections to performers and in this trend, it is altered to one of performing signs. The Vocal and instrumental music of Tazia is also the main role to participate viewers. The method of investigation in this thesis is based on library that the given data is explained analytically and descriptively.
