The occurrence of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ in the world of Christianity and the martyrdom of Imam Hussein in Islam are two incidents that play an effective role in the social and theological history of these two religions.  The history of these two religions is riveted by the developments that their founders attributed to these two incidents, as well as the fact that these two events play a significant role in the Shiite and Christian faith. Accordingly, in this study, the functions of these two events are examined, and in addition to examining the functions of each of these events in their acceptance society, the following chapters compare these functions with each other, discover existing heterogeneities and existing synonyms. The main purpose of the writing of this research is to discover common functions to provide a model of comparative theology for achieving the goals of interfaith dialogue, but given that the nature of these two events is so  different from one another, and at the same time because of the special importance each of them has for the followers of that religion , the author has stepped up and ignored the discussion of the nature of the subjects, and discuss on functions and effects , and  compares the two occurrences in this way . The pattern of comparative theology in this research is divided into two main sections; in the first section, the theological functions of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) and the reunion of Jesus Christ are dealt with, and in the second section, their social functions are examined. In the end, the result of this comparison is expressed by referring to the differences between them.
