Throughout Shia’s history, some sects existed that exaggerated beliefs about the Imams. In fact, deliberating on this subject can lead to find the reasons for the formation of such beliefs. Many orientalists have conducted researches on this subject with an unbiased religious viewpoint and expressed a general view of all Shia sects. “William Tucker” is one of the scholars who have been studying the two sects of the Mughairiyya and the Janahiyya. In this research, Tucker has quoted information about Al-Mughira ibn Sai’d from ancient Islamic sources and emphasizes on his fake narrated character. The general view of Tucker In the case of the adherents of the Mughairiyya and the Janahiyya is a kind of return to the theory of millennialism that believes in referral and Messianism. Tucker has not been able to properly distinguish Jabir al Ju’fi from Ghali’s Shiites and has counted him Ghulat on the basis of non-documentary news. In the case of Abd Allah ibn Muawiya, because of deviations he has ignored the role of his followers after his death. In this research it has been tried to provide a translation of two parts of the book “Mahdis and Millenarians” as Mughairiyya and Janahiyya in addition to review and assessment of this two sect’s beliefs that has been reflected in the book, and finally at the end of the research author’s view has been criticized.
