Deobandi School is one of the most important religious trends in Indian Subcontinent region. One of the Muslims’ strategies to prevent cultural invasion from colonialism was founding religious academies. Deobandi Darul Uloom has been founded by some Muslim scholars in India in the era of British East India Company and established fundamental changes on political and religious life of Muslims in Indian subcontinent. The attitude of Hanafi Deobandi School about “being trans-sectarian religious ruler (Caliph)” is analyzed in this study. In this regard, explanation and description of key concepts and terminology are stated at the first chapter. At the second chapter, foundations of Islamic ruler’s legitimacy are studied from the perspective of Deobandi such as choosing proficient, homage, predominance, and democracy. Third chapter considers Deobandi point of views about indicators for Islamic ruler (Caliph) including spirituality, justice, Ijtihad (wisdom), courage, being Qurayshi, etc. At the fourth chapter, Islamic ruler’s rights and responsibilities against people are shown in Deobandi idea such as religious rights and Islamic ruler’s policy. Chapter five mentions people’s rights and responsibilities against Islamic ruler in Deobandi idea such as obeying Islamic ruler, benevolence, and consultation. It is worth considering that in this study, according to the Hanafi Deobandi School, there is an attempt to highlight Deobandi idea in the field of obeying Islamic ruler (Caliph). It is emphasized that according to Hanafi Deobandi approach, obeying Islamic ruler is necessary for Muslims and they should have trans-sectarian regard; while some Deobandi  followers’ thinking and performance were in the contrary to their popular theory. Having analyzed reports and literatures, it has been concluded that obeying a trans-sectarian Islamic ruler is stipulated at some scientific sources in Deobandi School and Deobandi prominent scholars have had increasing attention on this issue with the benefit of Verses and Hadiths.hami
