This study seeks to provide a general overview of the ways in which Muslims deal with the plagues and plagues that prevailed during the Umayyad era, as well as the effects of these plagues, in addition to the current research. Focusing on cholera and plague, it is important to explain the meaning of cholera and plague and the effects of each of them. The study also seeks to examine behavioral and moral practices such as performing religious teachings such as i’tikaaf in mosques and fasting for three consecutive days and going out into the desert to be close to God to relieve plague and cholera. Also in this study, describe the cooperation of the people and their solidarity in order to get rid of the sick and the social plagues, which include: rising prices, especially the prices of equipment for preparing corpses and shrouds, and drinking alcohol, and committing sins, and The evils and refuge of some people in astrologers and astrologers to determine the time of the end of the disease epidemic for them and to avoid social harms, in addition to the spread of such epidemics and diseases, caused criminals to It has been done by stealing and exploiting others through fraud, deception and other things.

This study also presents a collection of diseases and plagues that have plagued the inhabitants of Iraq and the cities of the Levant during the Umayyad rule from the beginning of its establishment, ie the year (41 AH / 661 AD) to the year of its destruction (132 AH / 749 AD). The presentation examines the prevalence of the disease over a period of nearly a decade, including the reduction of an epidemic or disease or its recurrence and its impact on various aspects of life, and the importance of the spread of these diseases, especially its impact on the structure and Population density and the impact on the imbalance in the distribution of population among cities and villages and the impact on the number of inhabitants, because these diseases have caused many people to be killed, but in some cases have led to the complete destruction of a tribe, as If the disease occurs, it will destroy all people and animals, and this study has examined a large number of diseases that spread in the Umayyad era and had a great impact on the inhabitants.

In addition, the study examines the religious teachings and practices, moral behaviors, and the habits and behaviors of the pious and virtuous people living in the Levant and Iraq to draw closer to God Almighty in order to eliminate these diseases and plagues. And we have witnessed that the groups of reciting and concluding the Qur’an and understanding the hadith of the Prophet and returning to God and forbidding committing sins and avoiding benefiting the people and punishing those who do these things.
