The status of Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, from the perspective of the history of Baghdad

Khatib Al-Baghdadi is one of the well-known characters in history writing and is famous for the correctness and systematic nature of his works. He puts a lot of effort in explaining and clarifying the position of Ahl al-Bayt (AS). His book named (History of Baghdad) is one of the most important historical books of Khatib Al-Baghdadi in history and the subject of Ahl al-Bayt (AS). The subject of this research is to examine the position of Ahl Al-Bayt in the history book of Baghdad; Because the researcher examines the position of Ahl Al-Bayt (PBUH) in the history book of Baghdad, considering their importance in the history of Islam and for its historical richness. Also, the researcher points to the method of this book in identifying their social, scientific and cultural status. For this reason, the researcher extracted what Baghdadi said in his book about the Ahl  Al-Bayt, then analyzed it completely and finally reached important results, such as: Khatib Baghdadi has presented a summary of the genealogy of Amir al-Mu’minin Ali (A.s.) and the life of that Imam in the mentioned book, and mentioned the words of the Prophet about him and examined the Imam’s actions in the beginning of the Prophet’s movement at the head of Islam. Then, he ends this material with some narrations from narrators such as Abu Naim al-Hafiz. It also refers to Imam Hasan and Imam Hussain (AS) and the narration surrounding their lives. Among the Companions, the author mentions Salman Farsi and Ammar Yasir and their lives and their positive role along with their sacrifices in the early days of Islam, and finally mentions some narrations about them.
