The status of the Iraqi investigative press in the fight against administrative corruption, an analytical study

This study aims, through the role of investigative journalism in combating the phenomenon of administrative corruption from the point of view of Iraqi journalists and specialists, and what is the priority of investigative investigations, collection of sources and methods of analysis, and what are the problems and obstacles facing journalists. , which represent the most important objectives of this study, and this study relied on the analytical survey descriptive approach. Data were collected and distributed (341) to journalists and then processed these data statistically using the statistical analysis system (SPSS.25). The study reached the most important results. The statistical results of the four axes showed that the arithmetic mean for all axes was 4.392, the standard deviation was 0.429, and the variance for all axes was 0.184, so the axis (familiarity with the subject of investigative journalism ranked third in terms of relative importance, the arithmetic mean was 4.359, the standard deviation was 524%, and the variance was 0.275, The axis (the position of investigative journalism in detecting corruption cases) came in first place in terms of investigative journalism, with an arithmetic mean of 4,499, a standard deviation of 0.474, and a variance of 0.225. As for the axis (the interests of investigative journalism in exposing corruption cases) it came in second place, with an arithmetic mean of 4,415 and a standard deviation of 0.502 The variance is 0.253, and the axis (difficulties facing investigative journalists) ranked fourth in terms of importance. The relativity reached the arithmetic mean of 4,349, the standard deviation of 0.464, and the variance of 0.216. The study also recommended the necessity of enacting laws related to investigative journalism, which would organize work in it, how to access information and data sources and facilitate their analysis, and also the need to intensify training courses to develop the skills of journalists. The study also found To the need for government and legislative institutions to support investigative journalists, especially when there is a distinct and important achievement in combating corruption, and the need to keep pace with modern technology and techniques.
