The advent of new communication technologies in the present age, along with the changes that have occurred in cyberspace, has disrupted many functions of families. The occurrence of emerging injuries can pave the way for a new type of social and psychological injuries. Many researches have been done on this subject, which require a secondary reading in order to comprehensively understand issues and strategies on the one hand and to shed light on research gaps on the other. The present study is designed to systematically review the research conducted in the field of family and cyberspace.

The target population includes all articles and dissertations published in the years between 2010 to 2020 in Iran and a total of 275 quantitative and qualitative studies were reviewed. After applying the criteria, finally 60 studies were selected as the sample. The findings of this study include descriptive information, methodological and the status of quantitative and qualitative research. Different approaches in this field were divided into “optimistic approaches”, “pessimistic approaches” and “moderate approaches”, and in the end the results showed that there is a positive relationship between the amount, duration and motivation of cyberspace use and weakening of families. It needs more attention to the discussion of qualitative research on this issue to identify the underlying causes of the tendency to cyberspace and cultural context.
