This research includes images taken from jihad and resistance in a contemporary Iraqi novel so that the researcher can, according to the opinions of experts and rhetoricians, extract the methods used in these images and clarify their aesthetics. Undoubtedly, resistance literature often depicts the pains and troubles that people suffer from. In this way, the purpose of this mission-type literature is to raise the spirit of resistance and awareness of the people, and the main reason for its emergence is injustice and tyranny. In this literature, the author tries to make people aware of the fight against the enemy through his literature, because the American occupation of Iraq and its many consequences have created a flood of questions about the plight of Iraqi culture and how to defeat the foreign occupation through civilized resistance without violence. This type of resistance resorts to expressive artistic methods and usually promotes this dimension of civilization, which is inspired by the types of popular resistance and its artistic and creative meanings. Despite the fact that there is a lot of this type of literature, we did not find a deep novel that could change the obvious, except for the novel “Ah Sun, Forgive Me,” written by Fawzi Al-Ta’i, an Iraqi poet and novelist, who in this novel promotes the spirit of jihad and resistance against the American occupation. He has done this by using artistic images, the essence of which is to depict oppression and tyranny against the Iraqi people and the suffering caused by oppression on their behalf. From this point of view, the question raised in the researcher’s mind is how the images of jihad and resistance have appeared in this contemporary Iraqi novel. The hypothesis of the research is that in the novel (Ah Sun, forgive me) , there are many artistic images and the author’s narrative effects have played a role in drawing them; in addition, there are some rhetorical effects that have expanded the meaning circle of the novel, and this has added to the richness of its language; in order to extract new data, it examines one of the important human images. Our method in this descriptive-analytical research and its purpose is to show artistic images and reveal the various dimensions of these images.
