The subject of this study is the Post Office in the Buyid era, and the importance of choosing this topic comes from the lack of modern studies that dealt with this topic in this period. It did not deal with the Post Office in the period between 334 AH / 447 AH, rather it sufficed with talking about the mail in the first Abbasid era, knowing that the Buyid period represents a period of prosperity and development for the postal system, where it reached a great degree of accuracy and orderliness, especially during the era of the Buyid prince Adad al-Dawla. This study with analytical descriptive method includes a presentation and analysis of the sources, four chapters and a summary, and these chapters dealt with the basic aspects of the Post Office in the Buyihi era. The second chapter devoted a study of the Diwan before the Buyihi era, how the Post Office was established, how it developed, its tasks, and the relationship between the post and the administrative, political, economic and military systems. The study of the third chapter on the ways and means of mail revealed the diversity and multiplicity of the means of mail. These means, whether wild, such as donkeys, mules, horses, or air, represented by carrier pigeons, which had a great and prominent role, especially in the military mail, worked to advance the postal system forward, and the most important mail methods And its stations on the political, economic, military and commercial aspectsAs for the last chapter, we discussed the study of the most important postal employees, the postal administration, the tasks of each employee, the distinctive mark of postal employees, types of mail and duties of postal workers, in addition to the postal budget.
