This thesis is based on revealing the role of the media in establishing or planting a culture of protest against the status of successive governments in Iraq in the period from 2016 to 2020. The researcher has used the functional theories of the media and the theory of dependency and used the survey method as a research tool in the design of the questionnaire and its implementation on the statistical population of viewers of the Eastern satellite channel of two genders (male and female) and different age and educational groups. has taken. The statistical population of the research is 515 people who answered the questionnaire, and the number of men was 299 and women were 216. The result of this research indicates the special role of Al-Sharqiya channel in the formation of the culture of protest against Iraqi governments among the viewers of this channel in the mentioned period (2016 to 2020). This channel has been able to play a high role in the formation of the culture of protest against governments through its information and news functions and its political and social programs. However, the role of educational and secondary programs and the role of entertainment and information programs in this field have been small. Also, the political and economic programs of this channel have played a tremendous role in establishing and planting the culture of protest against the governments that came to power in Iraq during the mentioned period, and the viewers of this channel have been dependent on it, and between the two sexes ( There is no significant difference between male and female) and different age groups. This research emphasizes the results of some similar researches that have been done before, for example the research of Marvan Khashlan and Haider Faleh who have come to the conclusion that parties use their media to reduce tension between governments and people.
