This study aims to demonstrate the role of social networking sites (Facebook and Twitter) in promoting the concept of human rights among the public from the point of view of experts and specialists، where social networking sites، especially Facebook and Twitter، seek to consolidate some of the implications related to the culture of human rights among the public by referring directly or implicitly through everyday topics، especially with regard to rights، duties and freedoms.
This study relied on the descriptive analytical approach، while at the level of the research tool، the interview tool was used، which is one of the most important qualitative research tools، as it allows the researcher a large space to poll the respondents.
The problem of the study included the following question: What is the role of social networking sites (Facebook and Twitter) in promoting the culture of human rights among the public through its daily contents from the point of view of experts and specialists?
This study found that social networking sites (Facebook and Twitter) play an important role in instilling and promoting a culture of human rights among the public through the content they provide، through repetition، follow-up and easy use of access to knowledge easily and easily by different groups of society. In clarifying civil and social rights، they have influenced the human being culturally، behaviorally and emotionally and created new patterns in social interaction. There is a relationship between freedom of expression and the defense of human rights in social media and the nature of the political system that governs society، bearing in mind that the demand for human rights does not mean necessarily provoking riots and provoking violence.
Accordingly، the study recommends that whoever manages the pages on human rights needs experience and know-how in the concepts of human rights and the mechanism for presenting them، and therefore it is necessary to qualify the largest possible number of this segment، and these platforms must rely on correct news and not fabricated and forged that seek to Inflaming the street، and the media should not turn into a tool for slaughtering rights، privacy and freedoms، as sometimes it is social media that violates human rights.
