Undoubtedly, throughout the history of Islam, Shia scholars have played a significant role in preserving the heritage of Shia, especially the Ahl al-Bayt (AS). This thesis, with the title (Role of Shia scholars in the 7th century of Hijri in Iraq), deals with one of the important and influential stages on Iraq and its Shiites. When Iraq was going through one of the most difficult periods in its history, because this period coincided with the fall of the Bani Abbas caliphate. By studying books and historical sources, the researcher tried to answer this question: What was the role of Shiite scholars in inheriting from Ahl al-Bayt (AS) in the 7th century of Hijri? A role that can be seen in the scientists’ confrontation with the invasion of the Mongols and the preservation of people’s lives and property, as well as the protection of written and historical works up to that period. This century witnessed the presence of a large number of Shia scholars in Iraq, especially in the city of Baghdad and other parts of Iraq. Who were able to save the Islamic world with all its possessions and preserve its scientific wealth with many efforts and sacrifices and present a new and important face of Shia in the world? After this period, the academic center was moved from Baghdad to Najaf Ashraf, and religious schools were established in this city and then in the city of Hillah. A group of scientists became the leaders of the era in Islamic sciences and in its various branches. Hundreds of books written by Shia scholars, some of whom were unique in their kind, created a scientific renaissance in that period. All these could not have appeared except by relying on God Almighty and with the intention of serving Islam and the character of Ahl al-Bayt (AS). It should be noted that the researcher’s approach in this thesis was a descriptive-analytical approach.
