The first or that he took from other countries and nations, the Abbasids used incendiary oil fires and catapults, as al-Ma’mun used them in the siege of Baghdad in the war between him and al-Amin. The wicker, and the piles of any reed mats, and Qirt and shit with pebbles and sand, were used by the cavalry, and the skis, and the herds were used to demolish the walls. The study aims to highlight the role of the Abbasids in organizing the military, because of its role in highlighting the prestige of the sprawling state, defending its borders, demonstrating its strength, and clarifying the land and sea military capabilities of the Abbasid state, by addressing the army’s organizations, leaders, types, weapons, mobilization, and development The role of the military in the political system. Our study used the historical investigative method in studying and presenting historical data and events, where the historical method contributes to addressing the present problems in the light of previous information, with the possibility of predicting what is going to be in the future in light of the successive time variables on the problem under study.
