‏ The subject of the study dealt with the role of public relations of the Ministry of Interior in building the mental image of a security man among the Iraqi public, and to achieve this goal, the question was adopted (What is the role of public relations of the Ministry of Interior in building image of a security man?)  In order to answer this question, the researcher conducted a field study consisting of two questionnaires, one for a random sample of the Iraqi community and the other for an intentional sample of public relations practitioners in the Ministry of Interior, using the descriptive approach and the interview, observation and questionnaire tools. The study concluded with several conclusions, the most important of which was that the public relations function of the Ministry of Interior  A function that cannot be underestimated in terms of improving the relationship between the security man and society through the development of periodic and continuous plans and programs aimed to improve the relationship between the security man and the citizens, which is not considered an image for several reasons, the most important of which is the tyrannical policies of the former regime, and social media is one of the desirable sources.  Among the members of society because of its wide spread among individuals, it is one of the reflectors  The mental image of the security men of individuals’s inclination towards them and being influenced by what comes out of them in addition to that the Ministry’s adopts, such as respecting human rights, commitment and laws when a security man practices his work, reflects positively on the behavior of the security man, and this is an indication of the success of the Directorate of Relations and Information in instilling conditional doctrine among its members
