Over the past few years, the problem of corruption has been identified and discussed and has interest policy makers and researchers, and many international and national bodies have been established to combat corruption that threatens the economic, social and political structure of countries because of its degree. Comprehensiveness and diffusion. It affects the economy of both developed and developing countries. Corruption has become a global problem because of its prevalence. In all countries of the world, its repercussions affect society and threaten citizens, including those who benefit from it. Corruption afflicting Iraq is one of the biggest dilemmas facing the Iraqi state and society, hence the need to address corruption by the media, especially the press, to reduce or eliminate its effects. Based on these data about corruption, we will try through this research to capture the most important aspects of the subject and to identify the role of journalists in Iraq in combating administrative corruption and how to deal with it and the pressures that affect their role. What is the role of the Iraqi press in dealing with corruption, and what is its role in exposing and combating corruption? To answer this question, the descriptive approach was used, which is one of the closest methods to media studies and research, and the method of data collection was the questionnaire. The researcher identified the surveyed community of Iraqi journalists (Iraqi journalists), where a scientific questionnaire prepared for this purpose was sent to a sample of (424) journalists. We expect the study to yield tangible results, including: There is a high degree of agreement on the causes of administrative corruption in Iraq and a high degree of acceptance of the official, parliamentary and social role in combating corruption in Iraq. There is a high degree of approval of manifestations of corruption and a high degree of acceptance of the reasons for the shortcomings of journalists in Iraq in fighting corruption. In light of the results of the research, the researcher will put at the end of the study a number of scientific recommendations and offer solutions and suggestions to reduce the manifestations and forms of corruption and how journalists in Iraq deal with this important social problem.
