In this study, we examine the role of the media in the collapse of political systems (a comparative study between Bahrain and Egypt); In other words, we try to examine the nature of the role of the media and the reasons for the fall of the ruling regime in Egypt and the non-implementation of this role in the Bahraini political system. And we want to answer the main question: “What is the role of the media in overthrowing political regimes and examining this fundamental role in Egypt and Bahrain?”
In this regard, it became clear why the media failed to overthrow the Bahraini regime, but in Egypt it was successful. What was important about Bahrain was that the media owners and professionals were persecuted and restricted, and they were treated with violence and force, and their tools were confiscated and they themselves were imprisoned. As for Egypt, the nature of the media and the press from the past to the present has been examined and their role in overthrowing the government of Hosni Mubarak and Morsi has been clarified. It was also pointed out that the local and official Egyptian press has always tried to spread the awareness, culture and enlightenment of the society.
Also, to complete the discussion and more detailed study, interviews were conducted with about 10 personalities and experts and their opinions on this topic were recorded. All of these characters were those who were aware of the Arab events and followed the course of these events. Finally, all data obtained through interviews were analyzed and the results were extracted.
