A study of the functions of the local media and their role in the civil development of Najaf Governorate from the point of view of experts and specialists

This research was done with the aim of identifying the function of local media in terms of news, guidance, leadership and education, as well as familiarizing with their role in the growth of urbanization in Najaf province. In this research, the researcher used the descriptive-analytical method for qualitative analysis and relied on interviews as a tool to collect data from research samples including experts and specialists in Najaf province (local media in Najaf city) such as radio Najaf, Radio Maarif, Radio Atabat, Radio Wafa, Radio Safir al-Hussein and newspapers and magazines. The researcher divided this research into five chapters, the first chapter included the generalities of the research, the second chapter, the theoretical framework, the third chapter, the research method, the fourth chapter, the scientific framework, and the fifth and last chapter included some recommendations and then to The results were researched. By doing this research, it became clear that: local media on the development of the urbanization of Najaf province by encouraging projects, advertising job opportunities, encouraging tourism, transferring successful economic experiences, encouraging investment in the residential sector and Highlighting successful residential complexes, direct communication with citizens, holding meetings with officials, raising awareness in order to deal with local behaviors and customs, following continuous educational programs will be effective. Also, local media, on the development of urbanization in Najaf province, through broadcasting cultural news, aligning with scientific developments, news coverage of research events, spreading awareness, strengthening social solidarity, following educational programs. Education, explaining the positive points of correct education, public health and social security programs, along with broadcasting educational programs about infectious diseases, and conveying correct news to those in charge are effective. Local educational media also, on the development of urbanization in Najaf province, along with conveying the positive aspects of social cohesion in the province, cultural and social programs and meetings, clarifying the activities of the civil society and spreading this culture that women make up half of the people in the society. And fighting against rumors and fake news can be effective. In this research, there are several recommendations, including: the importance of expanding and preparing cultural programs to encourage citizens to update their knowledge in the field of education and dissemination and adherence to the spirit of the law and educational and Islamic ethics; Since the city of Najaf is considered an important city, this city needs to increase the production of programs with the content of eradicating illiteracy and paying attention to the lack of development in this city. Also, there is a lack of programs to deal with negative habits that affect the lives of individual citizens. It is possible to support the health sector of this province by passing the health insurance law. Also, access to standard medicines, the equalization of visiting rights of all doctors, the need to create social values, expanding the education of citizens to protect their privacy, dealing with narrow-minded and destructive views, holding meetings with health experts. It seems necessary to cover it in social networks, to highlight meetings with healthcare personnel who are actually engaged in providing services. Also, spreading high values and confronting corrupt concepts and morals in our society as an Arab-Islamic society can be a way forward.
