There is no doubt that Imam Ali (PBUH) was the most eloquent speaker after the holy prophet of islam, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), until doomsday, and his sermons, messages, and enlightening speeches are the best evidence of this claim and this saying: “His word is below the word of the creator and higher than the word of the creature!” is absolutely right. Because Imam Ali (PBUH) in Nahj al-Balaghah, in an artistic way and using similes, drew beautiful, artistic, and completely vivid images that astonished the scholars and orators. Hence, the book of Nahj al-Balaghah became a manifestation of the Alawite soul, in liberation from the meanings of common slavery and culmination to wider horizons, and it became a true mirror for the reflection of the reality in which it lived and to reflect the developments and stances that took place during his Imamate.
A simile is one of the most eloquent methods of eloquence and the best methods of illustration. Since Imam Ali (PBUH) used a lot of similes in Nahj al-Balaghah, so that the similes are very numerous and of different types, this book is a beautiful and pleasing picture of all kinds of similes, including the words and concise and detailed combinations. It’s like watching a live show full of movement and vibrancy.
In the sermons of Nahj al-Balaghah, there are about four hundred and twenty similes, all of which are at the peak of rhetoric and beauty. Examining these similes, we see that Imam Ali (PBUH) in most cases tended to renew everything, even in the relationship that connects the two sides of the simile (liken and liken to), in particular, when in the aspect where the pseudonym is common between the two sides of the simile. Therefore, Imam Ali (PBUH) succeeded through these amazing similes, and the amazing beauty that lies in all the similes that Imam Ali (PBUH) has created, lies in the pseudo-face. In this research, the researcher used an analytical-descriptive method to examine the pseudo-face in the similes of Imam Ali (PBUH). Unfortunately, there is no research, book, or article on the subject of examining pseudo-aspects, although most of the metaphors in the Imam’s speech are eloquent.
