This research was conducted with the aim of knowing and investigating the level of awareness of elementary school teachers in Al-Diwaniye province about the concept and importance of media education. And to achieve this goal, this research sought to answer a few questions, the most prominent of which is: What is the level of media education in education teachers in al -Diwaniyah? The importance of this study deals with the necessity of teaching media tools in today’s human life. With the advent of modern media tools and the complexity of social relations, it cannot be denied that the impact of the media and its role as an effective factor in education, insights and behavior has led to the formation of a new need for media education. Therefore, in this study, we seek to examine the level of media education of teachers in the province. The data collection tool is a questionnaire and its validity is obtained by referring to the professors and obtaining the necessary opinions and corrections by calculating the Cronbach’s alpha method and because the Cronbach’s alpha value for all dimensions is more than 0.7 . So the questionnaire had an acceptable reliability. After collecting the data obtained, the data was analyzed and then interpreted and inferred according to the descriptive-follow-up method. Among the most important results of this analysis: The level of media education of al -Diwaniyeh province teachers is lower than the average level in all dimensions. It was also clear that there are fundamental differences in demographic and media education variables between the variable of academic achievement and the level of media education. But there is no significant difference between age variables, media education, gender and media education of teachers in al -Divanieh province. The researcher recommends: Media education and formal educational programs in schools seem essential to enhance educational skills. As well as improving critical skills among teachers to analyze and evaluate educational content, it is certain that will lead to wise decisions.
