This study aims to analyze the contents of terrorism and extremism in the documentaries shown on Al-Iraqiya public channel between 2014 and 2020, where documentaries represent one of the main tools that fight terrorism and religious extremism, and well represent the important cultural and media weapon that national satellite channels carried in their battle against terrorist organizations.

Therefore, the study crystallized on a basic problem of the contents of terrorism and extremism in the documentaries shown on Al-Iraqiya public channel between 2014 and 2020 AD, to counter and eliminate terrorism and reduce extremism, and the strategy to confront them. So the main question came to search for what are the contents of terrorism and extremism in the documentaries shown on Al-Iraqiya public channel between 2014 and 2020 AD?

Our study adopted the qualitative content analysis approach to reach the graphic text and to determine the extent to which the topics and prospects of the texts correspond with the expectations of the person responsible for the analytical process. In addition to the interview method, interviews were conducted with some experts and specialists.

The study reached a number of results, most notably: Satellite channels play an important role in directing public opinion towards combating terrorist ideology and combating the phenomenon of religious and sectarian extremism through programs, news and documentaries, which enhance community security and peace. Documentary films that deal with the topics of terrorism and intellectual extremism using different connotations and hidden content that attracts viewers, such as photography, montage, visual and sound effects, creative lighting and new digital effects. Documentary films that fight terrorism and intellectual extremism leave their mark on the recipient.
