A study of the relationship between the use of Facebook and the attitudes of Iraqi women towards the feminist movement (Salah al-Din Governorate as a model)

The effect of the Facebook on society is a clear impact for everyone through the daily use of community members, as well as the overlap of the public’s needs in the uses of Facebook. It has become a market for shopping, sharing ideas, and even a springboard for revolutionary and political movements. Facebook on the reality of the feminist movement in Salah al-Din Governorate, as well as knowing the effects on the feminist society and its type, and the study seeks to develop logical solutions to those problems that directly affect society, since the feminist component has great importance

The study aimed to know the extent to which the feminist movement is linked to Facebook, as well as to search for the amount of influence of Facebook on Iraqi women in Salah al-Din Governorate, as well as to know the most important activities and events that women do in social networking sites in general and Facebook in particular, and also aimed to find solutions to problems Which women face by searching for these problems through the comprehensive questionnaire questions for them.

This study was considered a descriptive research according to the types of media research, based on the analytical descriptive approach using the survey method, and the research sample in the women of Salah al-Din governorate was randomly selected, a condition exceeding eighteen years, and (385) forms were distributed to females only through a random sample. On Facebook users, an electronic questionnaire was designed, and the data was analyzed using the statistical program (spss), where the data was unloaded and analyzed into information.

The study reached several results, including that the majority of women Facebook users work in government jobs, in a large percentage, in addition to that, most of the activities used on Facebook are support and encouragement of women and support for women’s movements, as well as carrying out many events and activities of interest to women’s reality in the governorate, It reached a number of recommendations, including:

1- The researcher recommends activating and supporting women’s roles in society and with all the possibilities that are needed for their development and growth to be a positive year in the advancement of Iraqi society and the preservation and defense of their rights.

2- The researcher recommends the virtual audience to interact and exchange ideas and information with women and take advantage of the time they spend on social networking sites.

3- The researcher recommends the necessity of enhancing the role of women in society through holding seminars and festivals and giving women the right to run such seminars.
