A study of government media activities in reducing the phenomenon of child homelessness (The Authority for the Care of People with Disabilities and Special Needs is an example)

This study deals with various media activities, Which is used by an Iraqi government institution concerned with a community segment with special human conditions, They (with disabilities and special needs) take care of them, question them, provide services, care, education and incubation for them, Where this governmental body plays a strategic and important role in addressing a serious humanitarian phenomenon represented in the displacement of children, through those media activities that are planned and worked on by the media cadres in the authority with a variety of these media and communication activities. Through the various media tools and equipment revealed by the study and clarified their meaning and motives for the noble institution to carry out these activities, the study also clarified the methods followed by the authority, and clarified the size and quantity of activities. And its implementation to meet this existing humanitarian challenge, through the qualitative study methodology that used the in-depth interview tool with open questions that were directed to a group of experts and specialists in academic media affairs and the work of the Media Authority, psychological researchers and its workers in order to obtain accurate and sufficient answers that were objectively analyzed using The Maxqda analysis program issued in 2022, from which we extracted the results of the study that led to the media activities used by the authority, which amount to 7 media activities (digital – audio – visual – readable – field – collective – diverse) and digital was the first, and that the authority used these activities for the benefit of the citizen and confronting For the phenomenon, using large and medium quantities of some of the media products completed. Especially for this challenge (articles – videos – designs – talks and TV interviews). The Foundation used to confront homelessness (35) media tools designed for this purpose using two methods in its work (direct – indirect) to perform its functions (awareness – enlightenment – news – monitoring – educational – cooperative) with the efficiency of the administrative media cadres working in the media department of the trained and qualified body. Our study revealed that, and the thesis was written in five chapters, the first chapter of which dealt with the general methodological framework, and the second chapter dealt with the theoretical framework with its investigations (social phenomena and media challenges – government media between directives and trends – the theories used – media activity – the Authority for the Care of Persons with Disabilities and people with special needs) and in its third chapter the procedural framework and work procedures, and in the fourth chapter the practical framework and results of the objective analysis, and in the fifth chapter the results, conclusions and recommendations, then we mentioned the sources and references in the study.
