A poetic image is an important element that the poet uses to express his thoughts and beliefs and is considered one of the most important elements of creativity in the structure of poetry. Many researchers have emphasized it and consider it one of the most important elements of creativity in the form of poetry and one of the sources of emotional experience. The Palestinian poet “Abdul Rahim Mahmoud”, whose poems are closely related to the Palestinian people, has devoted most of his poems to confronting deprivation and injustice and defending the rights of the Palestinian people with courage and selflessness. He inspires the beauty of his artistic images and their components from the current political, military, and social events in the Palestinian scene, and his ultimate goal is to enlighten minds and increase public awareness of Palestinian thoughts using national heritage and culture. In expressing these very sacred meanings in order to embody ethical ideals, he shows unique creativity. In fact, he pulls the audience behind him with enthusiasm to understand these meanings and discover their imaginative artistic angles, so that sometimes the listener feels that he sees in front of him what the poet is describing in all its details. Anyone who studies the form and structure of this poet’s poetry will find out that his poems are based on three main pillars: 1-simile 2-exchange of perception (recognition and visualization) and 3-symbolic image. This research has been done with a descriptive-analytical method and using some practical examples of the poems of this Palestinian poet.
