Songs and music are representative language that understood by all people. This study that called ” The aesthetics of lyrical forms in the Iraqi folk theater ” depends on the audio-intellectual components that  transmission the melodic ideas through all ages. Songs are  one of the main components that are essential  for completion of  any theatrical performance. Music and songs have a magical effect on the  recipients’ soul which can  create  the  joy  and the pleasure. These effects are confirmed by the theses of philosophers since the Greeks era until now. They all stressed on the importance of music and singing as an important joint for psychological recreation, that can give comfort and tranquility to the recipient. As well as, music and singing are the real caller of the text spirit and the idea of ​​theatrical performance  thus supporting the idea of ​​the writer and the director, this can be sowed through its aesthetic and intellectual support for all other theatrical techniques. Therefore, the researcher decided to study the aesthetics of lyrical forms in the Iraqi folk theater.

This research presents  an extensive academic scientific study on the topic of folk songs and their effects in theatrical performances. On the other hand, this research has studied the lyrical forms in an extensive manner including (folk song, mawall and other templates). Therefore, the researcher found that there is a need to study these templates  and their aesthetic and intellectual effects in  the popular theatrical performance. He also focused on the importance of aesthetically lyrical forms in theatrical performances, especially their effect in forming intellectual visions for theatrical performance with the aim of identifying  the mechanism of lyrical templates in samples. The language of the analyzed performances (the research sample) was written and pronounced in the local Iraqi popular dialect, whether it was prose, poetry, or lyrical poetry.  The theatrical performances come with the aim of  transforming the lyrical poetic text into a lyrical material  that happened in Iraqi society and a composer within the societal context of that period. They also targets to enrich the performances with music and folk singing for the purpose of bringing joy and pleasure to the recipient, and not feeling bored. There are many of the popular traditions such as the popular proverbs, the Iraqi maqam, the Baghdadi squares, the hymns, and the folk song. The folk songs taken intellectually and lyrically from Iraqi daily life had a permanent aesthetic presence because of their impact on the same recipient as they came mainly from the memory of the people.
